Medical Sales Repesentative
Hoechst, South Cheshire (1989 - 1991)
2.5 years experience as territory manager (South Cheshire) post graduation, selling products for General practitioners and hospital healthcare professionals in Ob&Gyn, urology, A&E, cardiology, elderly care for Hoechst UK where I managed to take my territory from 36th to position 16 in the company and won and award for hosting the most customer meetings within my budget over a 12month period with a net positive impact on my territory sales.
I sold one the first ACE inhibitors (Tritace) in CV medicine and one of the first fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Taravid) to microbiologists and the rest of the cross functional management team in secondary care.
I have also been a successful sales assistant in the wine industry (at Oddbins and at Jeroboams wine shops - the latter having promoted me to Marketing Executive after 2 months, to utilise my skill set).
Recent experience setting up a stall to raise money for The British Red Cross, purchasing Christmas Cracker stock to a budget of £500, setting prices, merchandising the stand, briefing staff and developing a booth rota and all signage. Resulting sales: £1,589 more than 200% profit for the charity. Sold out after 1.5 days (the event was 2 days long).
